Lighting Scheme Design

Finding the balance within any new lighting scheme can often prove tricky. There are often many different aspects that need to be taken into consideration for example:

  • Operational – what colour temperature, lumen output, dimming and control options are required
  • Aesthetics – will the physical appearance of the lights suit the environment?
  • Maintenance – how easy will it be to fix any issues, how long are the lamps expected to last?
  • Cost – this ties in with maintenance, what is the upfront outlay compared to lifetime costs?
  • Environmental – are there energy saving options? How easy is it to source replacements?

Here at General Lamps we’re proud to say we’ve built one of the most experienced teams of sales professionals within our Industry. All of our sales team are qualified to give impartial advice on any commercial light fixture that you are looking to buy. We also have a dedicated Dialux expert available to produce a lighting scheme for any environment or application that you may have.

Dialux

A Dialux scheme

Dialux software is designed to be able to take any room size or shape and produce a lighting scheme suitable to the environment that it is being used in. Light fixture manufacturers submit their products to Dialux with their light distribution curves and photometric values. Fixtures can then be added to a lighting project so that a professional lighting scheme can be produced for the client. Print outs of the scheme can show the client what lighting levels they can expect in any part of the room or building that is to be illuminated.

Energy survey

We can also offer clients a free energy survey, whereby we can give examples of how much money will be saved with a new lighting scheme as well as what the potential payback time will be. We can also show what the savings and return on investment would be when comparing different technologies that we use in our light fixtures. Examples would be a comparison of a fluorescent lighting scheme against the same scheme using an LED light source.

Lighting for homes

For lighting kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms our sales team can offer tips and tricks to help to get the best from your lighting. We can also give advice as to when a fire rated downlighter will need to be used for indoor lighting, as well as what level of IP rating (water/moisture resistance of a fitting) will be required for downlights when used to illuminate specific areas of a bathroom.

Leased Lighting Schemes

Westwon leasing

To bring affordable lighting schemes to our clients we have teamed up with Westwon Leasing so that we can offer unbeatable deals on leased lighting schemes

Leasing your lighting offers affordable monthly payments to pay for your lighting scheme. When converting to an energy efficient scheme the monthly energy savings made can equal the savings on energy in your building making the purchase of the lighting scheme effectively free!
